Winter has arrived and what better product to feature during these Winter months than Broccoli.
Broccoli Microgreens are highly nutritious, much more so than the mature plant. They are fast and easy to grow taking just 2-3 days to germinate, they will be ready for harvest in around 10 days, making them the perfect microgreen for these slower Winter months and to keep the germs at bay.
Broccoli Microgreens belong to the Brassicaceae family of cruciferous vegetables which are known for their powerful nutritional content. Other products in our range that belong to this family include Green Cabbage , Red Cabbage and Kale. They contain the powerful antioxidant precursor for sulforaphane, a chemical that is made when chewing cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli. Sulforaphane is a powerful antioxidant that may neutralise toxins in the body and reduce inflammation. Broccoli Microgreens are also packed with the immune boosting vitamins A, C, E, K and the B complex vitamins along with essential minerals such as, calcium, potassium, iron and zinc.
The flavour is similar to mature broccoli however, it is much less intense. It is slightly nutty or earthy and has a sweet refreshing aftertaste. Broccoli Microgreens are good enough to eat alone, the flavour is mild so it can be added to almost any dish as a garnish or to bulk up your favourite salad mix.
